What
is the one room in your house that you can totally relax in? Many
people will say the bathroom, of course! Here is where you can take
long baths after a hard days work or play, here is where you put
on your best face before facing the world. The bathroom is a sanctuary
for many. Filling your bathroom with relaxing and positive energy
is central to maintaining a peaceful environment.
Decorative bath accessories and hardware are an easy way to make
your bathroom into a haven away from the stresses and cares of daily
living. Following are some ideas for making the most of this refuge
and bringing out the in your bathroom:
1- Lighting is a great place to start. A good lighting plan is
a series of layers — placing ample light where it is needed
for showers, shaving, or putting on makeup, for instance, while
other light sources enhance the overall mood of the room. Using
soft light bulbs will bring a more gentle aurora to your whole bathroom.
2- Sinks. A simple way to give a bathroom a facelift is to buy a
new tub or sink (lavatory) faucet. New faucets might not make a
big impact on your house guests, but it can provide a refreshing,
new look. Changing a sink is also an easy fixture upgrade that may
cost around $200 to $400. A Cultured-marble countertop and sink
is a "pre-formed," integrated piece. Self-rimming sinks
set in the vanity opening with the rim resting on the countertop.
Undercounter models utilize fasteners to hold the sink in place
below the countertop's surface.
Pedestal sinks don't provide a bathroom with countertop space nor
storage, but do create more space. They're made to look old-fashioned
and can add more charm and character to a wall/corner area.
3-Decorative Soaps. Decorative soaps are a wonderful way to bring
color and fresh scents to your bathroom. By simply placing a few
pieces of decorative soap in a pretty dish on the edge of your tub
or sink you can add that little something special to your bathroom.
A bowl of your favorite potpourri is also a great option.
4-Pictures. The best choice here is to set a theme, such as nautical
or floral. Once you have choosen a theme you can buy prints of sailboats
or roses and frame them in matching frames hanging them evenly in
a pattern or scattered across the bathroom walls.
5-Finding a fluffy, soft rug is a great idea to add a little dimension
to your bathroom and feels great after a long bath or shower.
There are many things you can do to improve the look and luxury
of your bathroom. Start with just 2 or 3 minor changes and see what
a big difference they make.
