 The
bathroom is one of the easiest and most inexpensive rooms to decorate
in your home. With a few pointers you can have a most lovely place
to energize you for the day and unwind in at night.
The central focus of most bathrooms will be the shower curtain.
It is important to choose just the right shower curtain and then
accessorize around that main theme.
1-Choose a theme. Choose a something that brings you fond memories,
makes you feel good, and relaxes you. Some ideas for a theme may
be: seaside scenes or lighthouses, old-fashioned comfort, romantic
moments, flower and hearts. If you have little ones you might consider
rubber ducky’s, super hero characters, or princess themes.
2-Find a shower curtain that matches the theme you have in mind.
Today there are many shower curtains that come with matching rods
and hooks so it is easy to create a total look.
3-Find bath mats, towels, soap dishes and other containers that
compliment the theme of the shower curtain. These do not have to
all have palm trees on them, for example. A great way to create
a continuous flow from the shower curtain to the rest of the room
is to choose one color from the shower curtain and draw it out by
accessorizing the rest of the bathroom in that color.
4-A fun project that is easy and inexpensive is to find appliqués
that match your overall theme. Apply these to the walls of the entire
bathroom and around the tub and shower.
5-If you choose to you can also find pictures that match your theme
and frame them in matching picture frames. Make sure to mount these
securely to walls either in a pattern or scattered across the walls.
You want to make sure that the pictures are hung evenly.
Keep in mind that the bathroom is an area you should feel comfortable
in. Choose colors that bring you peace and promote harmony. If you
are so inclined you can even add some plants to your bathroom, this
will make the whole room feel more open and alive.
