When
designing your bathroom, consider all your senses. Aromatherapy--adding
scent as a fifth dimension to a room--makes a beautiful, lasting
impact that can be coordinated to colors or design themes. There
are different ways of bringing scent to a bathroom.
Aromatherapy is based on essential oils, which are the essences
of plants distilled from flowers, seeds and leaves.
· Scent is released into the air with diffusers, which work
by gently heating essential oils.
· A number of different types of diffusers are available.
Light bulb rings which are metal round rings with a small cavity
for essential oils. They are fitted over a light bulb and the heat
from the bulb releases the scent in the oil. A drop of oil can be
added to a small amount of water in a container placed over a tea
light that heats the mixture. A drop of essential oil can be added
to an electric pad, operated with an on/off switch, that gently
heats the oil.
· Other ways of adding scent to a room include candles, potpourris,
an aroma stone and atomizers.
To make your own aromatherapy combinations takes as few as two essential
ingredients:
Start with a combination of the following:
CHAMOMILE & LAVENDER
LAVENDER & ORANGE
PEPPERMINT & LAVENDER
ORANGE & BERGAMOT

ROSEWOOD & LEMON
Add a few drops of any of these essential oils to get a full aromatherapy
